    Snowman Logistics begins operations of its warehouse in Siliguri

    The company will have a total of 1,20,000 pallet positions of shared warehouses and 1,10,000 sq. ft. of e-commerce fulfilment centres by October this year.

    BANGALORE: Cold chain and integrated temperature-controlled logistics service provider Snowman Logistics Limited has started its operation in Siliguri. The total capacity of its warehouse is 4032 pallets. It is a multi-temperature facility designed to store products ranging from ambient temperature to -25 degrees centigrade. It has eight chambers, five loading bays with related infrastructure that includes G+5 racking system.

    The facility will cater to the storage, handling and transportation of seafood, ready-to-eat food, ice cream, dairy products, quick service restaurants, confectionery and bakery products, fruits, vegetables, pharma, and other products.

    Commenting on the development, Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman, Snowman Logistics Ltd, said, "The expansions at existing locations are to take care of additional volume from customers, and the new locations are helping us offer larger geography to our customers."

    A similar facility is under construction in Coimbatore and is expected to be ready by the end of October this year.

    Snowman also has built an e-commerce fulfilment centre for food and grocery in Mumbai. The facility is already operational. It is a 54,000 sq ft warehouse with freezer, chiller, ambient storage with various facilities. Another e-commerce facility is coming up in Pune.

    The company will have a total of 1,20,000 pallet positions of shared warehouses and 1,10,000 sq. ft. of e-commerce fulfilment centres by October this year. With these expansions, Snowman would have operations in 17 cities and 38 warehouses.

    In a statement, Sunil Nair, CEO & Whole-Time Director, Snowman Logistics Ltd, said, "With our SnowLink technology platform, we have been progressing well in our transport aggregation model. This is helping us offer end to end services to an additional set of customers."
