Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

Rama Phosphates(up 2.37%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 1.96%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 1.48%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 1.41%), Madras Fertlizers(up 1.34%), KRISHANA(up 1.15%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 0.84%), Paradeep Phosphates(up 0.73%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.66%) and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.62%) stood among the top gainers.

Sikko Industries(down 5.67%), Bohra Industries(down 3.18%), National Fertilizer(down 2.79%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.87%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.88%), Aries Agro(down 0.84%), G S F C(down 0.75%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.50%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 0.43%) and Agro Phos(down 0.40%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 112.35 points down at 18286.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 413.24 points at 61932.47.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.48%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.45%), Coal India(up 1.37%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.08%), NTPC(up 0.85%), State Bank of India(up 0.76%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.51%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.49%), Infosys(up 0.47%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC(down 2.22%), Tata Motors(down 1.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.8%), HDFC Bank(down 1.7%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.53%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.48%), Reliance Industries(down 1.42%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.4%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.32%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.26%) closed in the red.
