Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.93% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 2.71 per cent), MRF(up 1.52 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.36 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 1.34 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 1.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bajaj Auto(down 0.49 per cent) and Bharat Forge(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.93 per cent at 11206.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 29.05 points at 15703.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 92.65 points at 52600.92.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., MRPL and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Apar Industries, Standard Ind, Globe Intl. Carriers, Kohinoor Foods and Tree House Edu hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PTC India, E2E Networks, Fidel Softech Ltd., Seya Industries and Tata Steel hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
