Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 75.6 points to 18833.95 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Lloyds Luxuries Ltd., FutureLifestyleFash, Dhanuka Realty, Zim Laboratories and Jaypee Infra, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 27 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 22 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco, Tech Mahindra, TCS, HCL Tech and Wipro were among top gainers, while Bajaj Auto, Cipla, HUL, UPL and ITC traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 278.44 points up at 63378.09 at 10:04AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Cables, Rubber, Agro Processing and Metals - Non Ferrous sectors, while selling was visible in Services, NBFC, IT Enabled Services, Learning & Education and Miscellaneous sectors.
