Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.46% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:11AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.8 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.66 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 1.47 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.32 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 1.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.46 per cent at 12990.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 70.0 points at 18678.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 230.16 points at 62763.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, IOB and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Palash Securities, Dynamic Cables, B&B Triplewall Conta, GIC Housing Fin and GIC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Cerebra Integrat, Sintex Inds., Future Consumer, Vital Chemtech Ltd. and Pritika Engineering Components Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
