Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.49% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Bank of Baroda(up 3.06 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 2.81 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.89 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.6 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 1.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 1.49 per cent at 33627.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 137.35 points at 15694.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 429.12 points at 52694.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, IDFC First Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Sterling Tools, Avro India, Kohinoor Foods, Regency Ceramic and Voltamp Trans hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Star Health, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Dharani Sugars and Akash Infra-Proj hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
