Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.72% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Lupin(up 2.23 per cent), Cipla(up 2.02 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 2.0 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.84 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Laurus(down 5.63 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.71 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.56 per cent), Granules India(down 0.52 per cent) and Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.72 per cent at 13087.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.65 points at 18627.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 225.8 points at 62730.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Rail Vikas Nigam, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mohini Health & Hygi, SBC Exports, Chembond Chem, Axita Cotton and Aditya Birla Cap. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Laurus Labs, FutureLifestyleFash, Vital Chemtech Ltd., Keystone Realtors Ltd. and Educomp Sols. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
