Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty ended 3.35 points down at 17539.45, while the BSE Sensex closed 36.74 points up at 58803.33.
On the other hand, EIH, Royal Orchid, Omax Autos, GMM Pfaudler and Lokesh Machines stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, ITC, Adani Ports SEZ, HDFC, L&T and HDFC Bank were among the top gainers on the NSE in the today's trade.
Meanwhile, BPCL, Shree Cements, Hero MotoCorp, Hindalco and ONGC were among the top losers of the day.
