Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:56AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.29%), Sakthi Sugars(up 0.84%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.81%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.68%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.62%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 0.51%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.46%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.36%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 0.29%) and DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.27%) were among the top gainers.

Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.91%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.68%), EID Parry(down 0.51%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.47%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.45%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 0.37%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.35%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.34%), Rana Sugars(down 0.20%) and Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.17%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 14.45 points up at 18122.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 63.23 points at 60921.66 at around 10:56AM.

Tata Motors(up 1.56%), HDFC Bank(up 1.28%), Coal India(up 1.27%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.1%), HDFC(up 1.09%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.0%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.88%), State Bank of India(up 0.86%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.6%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever(down 2.77%), Asian Paints(down 1.92%), JSW Steel(down 1.59%), Nestle India(down 1.33%), SBI Life(down 0.94%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.8%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.69%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.62%) and Reliance Industries(down 0.55%) were trading in the red.
