    Stocks in the news: Rossari Biotech, L&T, Glenmark, Biocon, LIC Housing and HDFC AMC

    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 19.50 points, or 0.18 per cent lower at 11,110.50, in signs that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Thursday. Here are a few stocks which may buzz the most in today's trade:

    Larsen & Toubro: The engineering and construction major reported a 68.37 per cent year-on-year (YoY) fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 536.88 crore for the June quarter hurt by lower revenue, credit provisions in financial services business and under recovery of overheads.

    Rossari Biotech: The specialty chemicals maker makes its debut on the bourses on Thursday the first after the SBI Cards & Payments listing around four months ago. The grey market on Tuesday signaled around 40 per cent gains at listing for the debutant.

    Future Retail: Rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has said that Future Retail has missed a Rs 100-crore ($14-million) repayment on its $500-million foreign currency bonds. The agency has warned that it could downgrade it to ‘D’ if it feels that the company is unlikely to repay in the 30-day grace period.

    Glenmark Pharmaceuticals: The drug maker said Phase 3 clinical trial of antiviral drug Favipiravir in mild to moderate coronavirus patients demonstrated significant faster time to clinical improvement.

    Biocon, HDFC AMC and PNB Housing: Biocon, HDFC AMC, Dish TV, AU Small Finance Bank, MphasiS, ABB India, PNB Housing Finance, Radico Khaitan, Sterlite Technologies, Bank of Maharashtra and Zensar Technologies are among companies that are scheduled to announce their June quarter earnings on Thursday.

    Rallis India: The subsidiary of Tata Chemicals reported a 53 per cent growth in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 92 crore during the first quarter of 2020-21.

    ICICI Securities: The broker reported a 70 per cent jump in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 193 crore in the April-June quarter on robust growth in revenues and improvement in margins.

    RBL Bank: Banks like RBL Bank, Federal Bank and DCB Bank are now likely to join the their bigger peers such as ICICI Bank and Axis Bank in planning a share sale some time this year. RBL Bank, which raised Rs 2025 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) as recently as December is likely to be first off the block seeking to raise another Rs 1000 crore through a preferential allotment.

    LIC Housing Finance: The mortgage lender introduced an all-time low interest rate rate of 6.9% for new home loan borrowers. To bring in rate parity even current borrowers will be able to enjoy this new rate of interest.

    HeidelbergCement India: The cement maker on Wednesday reported a 38.07 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 48.94 crore for the quarter ended June.

    Dhanuka Agritech: The agro-chemicals firm on Wednesday reported almost four-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 51.79 crore in the first quarter of 2020-21 fiscal on robust income. The company's board also approved buyback of shares worth Rs 100 crore at a maximum rate of Rs 1,000 per share after getting shareholders' nod and other approvals.

    Unichem Laboratories: The drug firm on Wednesday said it has received approval from the US health regulator for its Amiodarone tablets used to treat irregular heartbeat. The approved product is a generic version of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc's Cordarone tablets.

    GAIL: The state-run gas major has urged the government to use its diplomatic ties with the United States to help rework the company’s expensive gas purchase deals with the American suppliers at a time the liquefied natural gas (LNG) rates in the spot markets have fallen to record lows, ET reported citing people familiar with the matter.
