Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 5.9 points up at 17610.4 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Adani Ent., 8K Miles Soft, Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd., Shrenik and Adani Transmission, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 19 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 31 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, ITC, Britannia, IndusInd Bank, HUL and Infosys were among top gainers during the day, while Adani Ent., Adani Ports SEZ, UPL, HDFC Life and Divis Labs ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 224.16 points up at 59932.24.
Traders piled up positions in Diversified, Shipping, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Media & Entertainment and Defence sectors, while selling was witnessed in Glass, Textiles, IT Software, Infrastructure and Auto Ancillaries sectors during the day.
