Stock market update: Consumer Durables stocks gain; Blue Star climbs 2%

NEW DELHI: Consumer Durables stocks were trading with gains at 01:38PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Orient Electric (up 2.29 per cent), Blue Star (up 1.88 per cent), Whirlpool of India (up 1.17 per cent), VIP Industries (up 0.79 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (up 0.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TTK Prestige (down 2.42 per cent), Voltas (down 0.67 per cent), Sheela Foam (down 0.66 per cent), Symphony (down 0.6 per cent) and Crompton (down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 0.36 per cent up at 23314.92 around 01:38PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 15.45 points at 11481.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 84.97 points at 38884.05.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Phoenix Mills, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Max Financial Services, Adani Enterpr., Affle (India) Ltd., Timken India and IOL Chemicals hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Shree Nidhi Trading Co. Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Svaraj Trading & Agencies Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Unistar Multimedia Ltd., SC Agrotech Ltd., Sagar Diamonds Ltd., N2N Technologies Ltd., Modulex Construction Technologies Ltd. and Ajwa Fun World & Resorts Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
