Share market update: Auto shares gain; Apollo Tyres climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's session.

Shares of Apollo Tyres (up 3.99 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 3.68 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 2.54 per cent) , Bosch (up 1.92 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.91 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 1.68 per cent) , Bharat Forge (up 1.24 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 0.89 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (up 0.66 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (up 0.66 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (up 0.18 per cent) and MRF (up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.08 per cent up at 6541.15 around 11:36AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 129.25 points at 10108.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 402.53 points at 34228.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Tata Motors, PNB, Tata Power, Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank, BHEL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
