Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.23% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

L&T Technology(up 0.68 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 0.75 per cent), Wipro(down 0.68 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.57 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.31 per cent) and Mindtree(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.23 per cent at 29610.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 26.0 points at 16610.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 103.43 points at 55669.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, SAIL and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uravi T and Wedge, Rolex Rings, Mirza Intnl, Wendt India and Timken India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Debock Sales & Mktg, Future Retail, Future Enterprises and Hikal Ltd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
