Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:27AM

Pokarna(up 5.16%), Aro Granite Industries(up 4.08%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.64%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.25%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.61%) and MOIL(up 0.18%) were among the top gainers.

Coal India(down 1.44%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.80%), Ashapura Minechem(down 0.70%), 20 Microns(down 0.28%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.12%) and KIOCL(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 76.05 points down at 17916.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 265.55 points at 60087.72 at around 11:27AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.48%), NTPC(up 1.0%), Reliance Industries(up 0.86%), Britannia Industries(up 0.84%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.74%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.65%), SBI Life(up 0.59%), UPL Ltd(up 0.58%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv(down 2.28%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.92%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.85%), JSW Steel(down 1.78%), ICICI Bank(down 1.46%), Coal India(down 1.44%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.39%), Asian Paints(down 1.23%), Infosys(down 1.23%) and Maruti Suzuki(down 1.02%) were trading in the red.
