Stock market update: BSE MidCap index fall over 1%; Vodafone Idea tanks 11%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading with losses at 02:11PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (down 10.93 per cent), Zee Entertainment (down 6.78 per cent), ADANIGREEN (down 5.0 per cent), Future Retail (down 4.95 per cent) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 4.75 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Balkrishna Industries (up 2.68 per cent), Crompton (up 2.5 per cent), Page Industries (up 2.29 per cent), Motilal Oswal Financial Services (up 1.55 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (up 1.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.26 per cent down at 14103.89 around 02:11PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 114.40 points at 11039.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 369.48 points at 37364.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Route Mobile Ltd., Firstsource Sol, Hexaware, MphasiS and Infosys hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Mukat Pipes Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd. and Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
