Stock market update: Private Bank shares shed; Axis Bank falls over 2%

NEW DELHI: Private Bank shares were trading with losses at 12:17PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Axis Bank (down 2.26 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.51 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 1.42 per cent), City Union Bank (down 0.36 per cent) and IDFC Bank (down 0.32 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Bandhan Bank (up 1.41 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.55 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.18 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.78 per cent down at 12944.35 around 12:17PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 13.65 points at 11456.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 60.95 points at 38839.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zee Ent., Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Central Depository Services (India) Ltd., Adani Green Energy Ltd., IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., Hathway Cable and Godrej Ind hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Libas Designs Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
