Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 160.0 points up at 62570.68 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Kanani Inds(down 15.06 per cent), Siddha Ventures Ltd.(down 11.84 per cent), Beeyu Overseas(down 11.72 per cent), TeleCanor Global(down 10.00 per cent) and Chambal Brewer(down 9.86 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks closed in the green, while 23 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 48.85 points up at 18609.35.
On the BSE, Gala Global Prod and Nirvikara Paper Mill hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Skipper Ltd, Central Bank, Clara Industries Ltd., Narmada Gelatine and B-Right Realestate Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
