Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.32% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

MPhasis(up 0.87 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 0.66 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.65 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.6 per cent), Wipro(down 0.57 per cent) and Mindtree(down 0.55 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.32 per cent at 29377.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 27.9 points at 16328.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 109.14 points at 54783.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of MRPL, Vodafone Idea, ONGC, TV18 Broadcast and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tree House Edu, Global Education, Mirza Intnl, Hindustan Motor and Kohinoor Foods hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Jagran Prakashan, SMS Pharma, Advani Hotels and The Anup Engg hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
