Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:50AM

Inox Wind Energy(up 4.76%), RTNPOWER(up 4.71%), Inox wind(up 4.35%), KPI Green Energy(up 3.17%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 2.46%), GE Power India Limited(up 1.51%), Orient Green Power Company(up 1.19%), KEC International(up 1.09%), Adani Power(up 0.66%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.44%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy(down 3.30%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.79%), Energy Development Company(down 1.77%), Torrent Power(down 1.66%), DPSC(down 1.48%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.42%), PTC India(down 1.34%), NTPC(down 1.32%), NLC India(down 1.31%) and Suzlon Energy(down 1.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 100.0 points down at 16907.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 327.27 points at 56780.25 at around 10:50AM.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.0%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.16%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.12%), Eicher Motors(up 0.65%), Tata Motors(up 0.59%), Asian Paints(up 0.53%), Nestle India(up 0.52%), Britannia Industries(up 0.42%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.39%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.36%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.21%), ITC(down 2.2%), Coal India(down 2.01%), JSW Steel(down 1.99%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.87%), HDFC(down 1.7%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.6%), Axis Bank(down 1.59%), HDFC Bank(down 1.49%) and Reliance Industries(down 1.38%) were trading in the red.
