Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Monday's session.

Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 14.42%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 10.90%), KEC International(up 5.79%), PTC India(up 4.98%), Adani Transmissions(up 3.61%), ADANIGREEN(up 2.89%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 2.67%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 2.53%), JSW Energy(up 2.04%) and PIGL(up 1.99%) stood among the top gainers.

KKV Agro(down 5.00%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.95%), Karma Energy(down 2.50%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.35%), SJVN(down 0.73%), NHPC(down 0.63%), CESC(down 0.59%), KPI Green Energy(down 0.56%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.51%) and DPSC(down 0.39%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 241.75 points up at 18101.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 846.94 points at 60747.31.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.59%), Tata Consultancy(up 3.38%), HCL Technologies(up 3.35%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.11%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.95%), SBI Life(up 2.94%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.94%), Wipro(up 2.57%), Infosys(up 2.48%) and Reliance Industries(up 2.36%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd(down 2.11%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.14%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.59%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.52%), Grasim Industries(down 0.42%) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.07%) closed in the red.
