Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; Emami rises 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading trading higher in Friday's session.

Shares of Emami (up 2.05 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 2.04 per cent) , VBL (up 2.01 per cent) , TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 1.5 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (up 1.05 per cent) , ITC (up 1.0 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (up 0.89 per cent) , P & G Hygiene (up 0.83 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 0.45 per cent) and Dabur India (up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.6 per cent up at 30497.8 around 02:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 42.20 points at 10593.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 140.05 points at 35983.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Motherson Sumi, Tata Motors, BEL, Tata Power, SBI, SAIL and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
