Stock market update: Auto stocks gain; Bajaj Auto rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading with gains at 10:38AM on Tuesday.

Shares of Hero MotoCorp (up 2.39 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 2.04 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.71 per cent), Exide Industries (up 0.58 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Motherson Sumi Systems (down 2.53 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 1.36 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.17 per cent), Bosch (down 0.6 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.54 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 7649.65 around 10:38AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 94.40 points at 11364.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 356.39 points at 38538.47.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, Tata Motors and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaibhav Global, GMM Pfaudler, J B Chem, JSPL and Hindustan Zinc hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
