Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Aries Agro(up 19.99%), National Fertilizer(up 16.21%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 14.85%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 12.12%), G S F C(up 10.21%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 10.00%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 7.87%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 6.00%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 5.27%) and Rama Phosphates(up 5.02%) stood among the top gainers.

Sikko Industries(down 1.62%) and KRISHANA(down 1.14%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 9.8 points down at 18122.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 17.15 points at 60910.28.

Titan Company Ltd(up 3.06%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.47%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.46%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.39%), UPL Ltd(up 1.01%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.98%), Coal India(up 0.88%), Grasim Industries(up 0.76%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.74%) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.66%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 1.35%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.19%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.07%), Tata Steel(down 1.03%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.98%), Cipla(down 0.92%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.88%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.83%), Axis Bank(down 0.8%) and UltraTech Cement(down 0.75%) closed in the red.
