Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.9% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank(up 3.29 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 2.25 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.22 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.6 per cent) and Federal Bank(up 1.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IDFCBANK(down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.9 per cent at 40570.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 102.0 points at 17900.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 313.62 points at 60001.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Euro India Fresh, D P Wires, BSL Ltd, Mahalaxmi Rub and Mohini Health & Hygi hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., JFL Life Sciences Ltd., GRM Overseas, FutureLifestyleFash and Gayatri Project hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
