Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 2.01%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate(up 4.81 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 3.73 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 3.4 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 3.14 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(up 2.72 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, DLF(down 0.37 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 2.01 per cent up at 411.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 76.85 points at 16584.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 359.33 points at 55566.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, NTPC and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uravi T and Wedge, PG Electroplast, Foce India Ltd., Shanthi Gears and AIA Engineering hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indo Borax Chem, Nath Bio-Genes , Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Dynemic Product and Subex hit their fresh 52-week lows.
