Stock market update: Nifty Bank index down over 1%; IndusInd Bank slips 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading on a negative note at 02:33PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (down 3.75 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 3.68 per cent), Axis Bank (down 3.4 per cent), Federal Bank (down 2.61 per cent) and RBL Bank (down 2.48 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While ICICI Bank (up 0.16 per cent) was the sole gainer.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.48 per cent down at 21049.8 around 02:33PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 106.60 points at 11143.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 312.83 points at 37721.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of TCS, Hexaware, Hathway Cable and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Banka Bioloo Ltd., CKP Leisure Ltd., Libas Designs Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., Coal India Ltd., Tirupati Forge Ltd., Eicher Motors Ltd., Mask Investments Ltd. and Spacenet Enterprises India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
