Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.0%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Monday.

Shares of Gland Pharma(up 2.84 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.6 per cent), Laurus(up 1.1 per cent), Granules India(up 1.01 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.87 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories(down 4.12 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.76 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.32 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.32 per cent) and Pfizer(down 0.69 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.0 per cent at 12940.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 127.6 points at 17525.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 465.14 points at 58853.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 17 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, JP Power, Suzlon Energy and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kotyark Industries Ltd., Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Speciality Rest, CSL Finance and ICE Make Refr hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zensar Tech, Vaxtex Cotfab, Birla Tyres, NBI Industrial and Future Enterprises hit their fresh 52-week lows.
