Share market update: FMCG shares mixed; Britannia rises 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading trading on a mixed note in Monday's session.

Shares of Britannia Industries (up 2.47 per cent) , VBL (up 2.26 per cent) , United Breweries (up 2.25 per cent) , TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 1.74 per cent) , United Spirits (up 0.43 per cent) and Nestle India (up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While ITC (down 3.73 per cent) , Marico (down 1.97 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.07 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (down 0.73 per cent) , P & G Hygiene (down 0.46 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (down 0.45 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 0.29 per cent) , Emami (down 0.15 per cent) and Dabur India (down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.38 per cent up at 30644.55 around 02:06PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 173.90 points at 10781.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 529.46 points at 36550.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Suzlon Energy, Tata Motors, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, SBI, ITC and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
