The NSE Nifty index closed 111.0 points up at 18314.4, while BSE Sensex ended up 234.0 points at 61963.68.
On the other hand, Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.90 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.70 per cent) and Coal India Ltd.(down 0.50 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
