Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:55AM

RTNPOWER(up 2.74%), NLC India(up 2.54%), KPI Green Energy(up 2.09%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 1.72%), NTPC(up 1.68%), Orient Green Power Company(up 1.52%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.44%), Inox wind(up 1.41%), CESC(up 1.03%) and DPSC(up 0.82%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 20.00%), ADANIGREEN(down 17.54%), PTC India(down 5.00%), Adani Power(down 5.00%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.66%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.35%), Karma Energy(down 2.22%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.93%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.65%) and SJVN(down 1.47%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.1 points down at 17555.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 131.29 points at 59199.61 at around 10:55AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 4.81%), Adani Enterprises(up 4.04%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.35%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.91%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.69%), NTPC(up 1.68%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.09%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.09%), ITC(up 1.04%) and Coal India(up 0.88%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.35%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.88%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.5%), Tata Steel(down 2.32%), JSW Steel(down 2.23%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.14%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.12%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.01%), SBI Life(down 1.93%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.92%) were trading in the red.
