Share market update: Auto shares down; M&M dips 3%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (down 2.91 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (down 2.42 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (down 2.12 per cent), Apollo Tyres (down 1.95 per cent) , Exide Industries (down 1.78 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.48 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (down 1.35 per cent) , MRF (down 1.3 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (down 1.25 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (down 0.83 per cent) , Tata Motors (down 0.78 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.92 per cent down at 7105.75 around 11:41AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 69.60 points at 10694.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 198.68 points at 36288.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Tata Motors, NBCC , SAIL, M&M Financial, RBL Bank Ltd., Ashok Leyland, SBI and Bandhan Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
