Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.93% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

AU Small Finance Bank(up 2.5 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.7 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.64 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.5 per cent) and ICICI Bank(up 1.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.93 per cent at 34596.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 79.1 points at 16345.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 353.98 points at 54680.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of SAIL, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Akshar Spintex, Apcotex Ind, Network People Services Technologies Ltd., BLS Int. Services and Shanthi Gears hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JSW Steel, Tata Steel, SAIL, NMDC and Prudent Corporate Advisory Services Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
