Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 36.8 points to 18557.05 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Gayatri Highways, Bombay Metrics Suppl, Quicktouch Technolog, Advitiya Trade India and Sintex Plastics Tech, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 29 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 21 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, UltraTech Cem., Maruti Suzuki, Divis Labs, Grasim Inds. and Tata Motors were among top gainers, while Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Tech and TCS traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 156.01 points down at 62631.46 at 11:01AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Glass, Aquaculture, Irrigation & Allied Services and Cement sectors, while selling was visible in Trading, Real Estate, Media & Entertainment, IT Software and Electric/Electronics sectors.
