Share market update: Auto shares gain; M&M climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading with gain in Monday's session.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (up 4.02 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 3.48 per cent) , TATAMDVR (up 2.77 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 2.65 per cent) , Exide Industries (up 2.41 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 2.06 per cent) , MRF (up 1.95 per cent) , Bosch (up 1.94 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.58 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (up 1.52 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (up 1.5 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 1.15 per cent) , Bharat Forge (up 0.78 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.71 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (up 0.59 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.55 per cent up at 7079.05 around 11:45AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 156.05 points at 10763.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 467.44 points at 36488.86.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Suzlon Energy, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, SBI, ITC, ITI Ltd and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
