Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: Several stocks gained in excess of 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
MAC Hotels(up 19.89%) and Pan Electronics(up 19.84%) were among the stocks that surged over 15%.
The 30-share index, BSE was trading 459.2 points down at 57166.71, while the 50-share index, NSE was 132.5 points down at 16991.1.
In the Nifty50 index, 9 stocks traded in the green, while 41 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Zenith Exports, Swarnsarita Gems, Maharashtra Seam., Apollo Micro Systems and Astec Lifesc hit their fresh 52-week high, while Wipro, My Money Securit, BFL Asset Finvest, S M Gold and Alan Scott Industrie touched their new 52-week low during the session.
