Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:22AM

Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 2.94%), ADF Foods(up 1.45%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.28%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 0.77%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.74%), Heritage Foods(up 0.43%), Varun Beverages(up 0.38%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.37%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.33%) and Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.20%) were among the top gainers.

Umang Dairies(down 3.02%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.35%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.74%), Nestle India(down 0.73%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.66%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.59%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.42%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.33%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.31%) and Dangee Dums(down 0.27%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 40.75 points down at 18124.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 120.26 points at 60925.48 at around 11:22AM.

UPL Ltd(up 1.7%), Tata Steel(up 1.06%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.01%), SBI Life(up 0.91%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.74%), JSW Steel(up 0.68%), Coal India(up 0.67%), Grasim Industries(up 0.51%), Asian Paints(up 0.47%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 3.77%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.35%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.18%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.09%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.95%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.94%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.94%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.81%), Eicher Motors(down 0.78%) and ICICI Bank(down 0.76%) were trading in the red.
