Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:50AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

TIINDIA(up 2.27 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.02 per cent), Bosch(up 0.79 per cent), Escorts Kubota(up 0.74 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries(down 6.46 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.07 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.93 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.74 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.57 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.33 per cent at 12902.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.4 points at 17427.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 186.85 points at 58485.65.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp. and Crompton Greaves were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rama Phosphates, Kotyark Industries Ltd., Fineotex Chem, Himadri Speciality and Lemon Tree Hotels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Uniinfo Telecom Serv, Future Retail, Birla Tyres, IMP Powers Ltd and Melstar Info hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
