Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.7% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Macrotech Developers(up 0.51 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Oberoi Realty(down 1.66 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.39 per cent), DLF(down 0.82 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 0.55 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Realty index was down 0.7 per cent at 469.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 105.55 points at 17550.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 370.58 points at 58826.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Macpower CNC Machine, Bharat Wire Ropes, Speciality Rest, Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd. and EIH hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., Shri Ram Switchgears, Debock Sales & Mktg, OrissaBengalCarrier and Piramal Ent. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
