Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.34% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Bank of Baroda(up 0.64 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.57 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank(down 1.76 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.8 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 0.78 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.72 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.41 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.34 per cent at 41328.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.65 points at 17798.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 23.16 points at 59696.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Shree Ren Sug, Central Bank, Vodafone Idea and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Airo Lam, Liberty Shoes, Swaraj Engines, VIP Clothing and McLeod Russel hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Dynemic Product(PP), Sathavahana Isp, JFL Life Sciences Ltd. and Gland Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
