Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.08% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

HCL Technologies(up 0.93 per cent), Coforge(up 0.61 per cent), Infosys(up 0.31 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.11 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 1.03 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.97 per cent), Mindtree(down 0.58 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.51 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.08 per cent at 27045.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 111.15 points at 16969.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 341.62 points at 56939.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Tata Steel, Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Apollo Sindoori, Rites, Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd., Bombay Super Hybrid and AVSL Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dhanvarsha Finvest, Kandarp Digi Smart BPO Ltd., MEP Infrastructure, Ishan International Ltd. and SVP Global hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
