Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.34% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 1.17 per cent), Wipro(up 0.07 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 1.58 per cent), Infosys(down 0.76 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.6 per cent), Mindtree(down 0.57 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.51 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.34 per cent at 29522.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 140.55 points at 15922.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 447.84 points at 53241.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ambuja Cements, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Blue Chip India, Avro India, GSS Infotech, Raj Rayon and Zenith Birla hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gayatri Highways, Heranba Industries Ltd., Pix Trans, Thyrocare Tech. and Honeywell hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
