Stock market update: Nifty Bank index up 2%; IndusInd Bank climbs 3%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading with gains at 11:53AM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Federal Bank (up 3.08 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 2.89 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.75 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.69 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 2.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.86 per cent up at 24762.9 around 11:53AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 102.10 points at 11998.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 374.36 points at 40918.73.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Vedanta , Federal Bank, YES Bank and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of PI Industries, MCX India, Havells India, Tata Elxsi and JSW Steel hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd. and Maheshwari Logistics Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
