Share market update: Auto shares down; M&M dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Wednesday's session.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.68 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (down 1.45 per cent) , Bharat Forge (down 1.42 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (down 0.78 per cent) , MRF (down 0.28 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (down 0.16 per cent) and Exide Industries (down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.51 per cent down at 7379.1 around 02:01PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 35.90 points at 11264.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 191.44 points at 38301.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, SAIL, RBL Bank Ltd. and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
