Stock market update: Media stocks advance; Dish TV surges 10%

NEW DELHI: Media stocks were trading in the green zone at 11:54AM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Dish TV India (up 9.94 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 3.14 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (up 0.44 per cent) and PVR (up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Inox Leisure (down 3.01 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 2.61 per cent), TV Today Network (down 0.97 per cent), DB Corp (down 0.95 per cent) and Zee Entertainment (down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 0.49 per cent up at 1594.1 around 11:54AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.80 points at 11475.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 54.31 points at 38853.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, LIC Housing Fin and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Max Financial Services, Affle (India) Ltd., Timken India, Indiabulls Ventures (PP) and Adani Enterprises hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
