Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.41% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:16AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Abbott India(up 0.93 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.38 per cent), Sanofi India(up 0.27 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.26 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.13 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.97 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.9 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.77 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.61 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.41 per cent at 12701.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 76.65 points at 17915.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 274.57 points at 60078.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, PNB and IDBI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rama Steel Tubes, Lambodhara Text, Salzer Electro, Tainwala Chem and Jagran Prakashan hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sumeet Ind, Jyoti Structure, Paras Petrofils, Transwarr Fin(PP)and Sathavahana Isp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
