Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.26% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 2.26 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.41 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.12 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.05 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Abbott India(down 1.96 per cent), Lupin(down 1.7 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.13 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.83 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.79 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.26 per cent at 12734.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 99.0 points at 17241.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 303.26 points at 57812.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Deepak Fertilisers, Dynamic Cables, International Constructions Ltd., Kshitij Polyline and Crown Lifters hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while KCK Industries Ltd., Birla Tyres, IMP Powers Ltd, Hind Nat Glass and Vaxtex Cotfab hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
