Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.11% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Tata Motors(up 1.67 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.1 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.96 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.92 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.81 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors(down 3.5 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.08 per cent), Escorts Kubota(down 0.9 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.72 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.68 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.11 per cent at 13094.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 272.25 points at 18300.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 993.7 points at 61607.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, PNB, Suzlon Energy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DCX Systems Ltd., RPG Life Sci, Sikko Industries, Varanium Cloud Ltd. and M K Proteins hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sigma Solve, Williamson Magor, Supriya Lifescience Ltd., CLC Industries and Supreme Engineering hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
