Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.34% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.41 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.37 per cent), Laurus(up 0.32 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.11 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Granules India(down 2.28 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.13 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.06 per cent), Lupin(down 0.89 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.83 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.34 per cent at 12581.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 104.7 points at 18017.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 350.76 points at 60559.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, IOB, PNB, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of HEC Infra Projects, Network People Services Technologies Ltd., Swastik Pipe Ltd., Ponni Sugars and FACT hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sintex Inds., Godha Cabcon & Insul, Goenka Diamond, Paras Petrofils and Abans Holdings Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
