Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:21AM

Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 9.33%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 8.76%), Suzlon Energy(up 7.53%), Jyoti Structures(up 3.92%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 3.20%), PTC India(up 3.07%), DPSC(up 2.94%), RTNPOWER(up 2.44%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 2.32%) and Indowind Energy(up 1.79%) were among the top gainers.

Energy Development Company(down 2.19%), Inox wind(down 1.83%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.14%), Adani Power(down 0.76%), Tata Power Company(down 0.50%), NHPC(down 0.36%), NTPC(down 0.35%), ADANIGREEN(down 0.32%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.30%) and Alstom T&D India(down 0.24%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 15.45 points up at 18512.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 37.54 points at 62219.21 at around 11:21AM.

Coal India(up 1.92%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.29%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.23%), HDFC Bank(up 1.16%), Nestle India(up 0.91%), HDFC(up 0.82%), Tata Steel(up 0.81%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.81%), Tata Motors(up 0.8%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 1.95%), Infosys(down 1.49%), Cipla(down 0.95%), Eicher Motors(down 0.85%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.82%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.76%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.72%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.69%), Axis Bank(down 0.61%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.45%) were trading in the red.
